Pet Corrector

Pet Corrector™

Distract your dog from unwanted behaviour with Pet Corrector. This handy tool emits a hiss of compressed gas, with a broad spectrum of sound (white noise) varying from a low frequency rumble to a high frequency hiss, that will grab your dog’s attention. Almost all dogs react to Pet Corrector because the sound, reminiscent of the hiss of a snake, an angry swan, or the buzz of a dangerous insect, is genetically programmed to be associated with danger.

1

Hiss sound

Pet Corrector retrains your dog’s behaviour by emitting a hiss which mimics the natural warning sounds that cats and other animals make. This interrupts their actions and allows you to retrain their habits – to stop dog barking and jumping up.

2

Great for dog training

We love our dogs, so training them humanely is important. Pet Corrector is a constructive and positive way to interrupt bad habits and form better behaviours – giving you peace of mind around the house and in public.

3

Safety first

Pet Corrector is not recommended for use with puppies and should never be pointed directly at a dog or any part of your own body. It’s not a toy and should only be used by adults and professionals.

4

Uses per can

Pet corrector is available in 3 sizes and is best used in short bursts. The amount of bursts are dependent on usage, however the 30 ml cans have enough air for approximately 30 uses, the 50 ml cans have enough air for approximately 50 uses and the 200 ml cans have enough air for approximately 200 uses. These are approximates and by no means guaranteed.

FAQs

The nozzle should only be pressed down for less than a second when your dog is performing undesirable behaviour. If your dog does not respond immediately, a second burst should be administrated. Do not press for longer than less than a second.

Always use the product from at least one metre distance. Never pointing it directly towards your face or towards your pet.

We always recommend, as a first step, that dog owners perform a sensitivity test at least one metre away from their dog while it’s doing a specific unwanted behaviour. This is just to see how the dog reacts. The sound should get the dog’s attention, so you can ask for an alternative behaviour and reward accordingly. However, it should not trigger an excessively fearful or anxious response, and if it does then stop using the product entirely. We also advise Pet Corrector should not be used on puppies, nervous dogs or if a dog is barking due to separation anxiety.

As an approximate amount, 30ml you should get 30 bursts, 50ml should get 50 bursts and 200ml should get 200 bursts. These are approximates and by no means guaranteed. The amount of bursts are dependent on usage.

When training your dog timing is crucial. Having a Pet Corrector can to hand will make a real difference. Take a look at our canister holster, that allows you to attach a 50 ml can to any belt or pocket.
